John Bremhorst

A Barrister and Chartered Professional Engineer, John has a broad commercial litigation, regulatory and energy & resources practice.

John specialises in technically complex matters including infrastructure, mine, port and petroleum & gas litigation. John has a substantial employment and workplace health and safety practice advising in relation to industrial accidents, defending safety prosecutions and appearing at Inquests.  He advises on tenure rehabilitation liabilities and defends criminal environmental prosecutions.  His clients include listed entities, government authorities, sme’s, executives and individuals.  He also acts for in-need community groups who require pro-bono legal assistance. 

John brings to practice a wealth of diverse experience as a surface and underground mine engineer and as a director of numerous companies.  His innovative equipment designs have received prestigious R&D funding grants and have been awarded with domestic and international patents. 

John is a Member of the Bar Association of Queensland and the Institution of Engineers Australia. He was formerly Queensland Mines Rescue Brigade trained. John is a regular presenter at the Queensland Bar Association’s Bar Practice Course.
