Kasey McAuliffe-Lake specialises in administrative, public interest and general commercial law, with particular experience and interest in matters dealing with climate change and environmental concerns, resources, human rights, and construction. She frequently acts for both private, commercial and government clients in a range of jurisdictions, and in ADR processes. She is based in Brisbane/Gold Coast, but happily accepts briefs to appear in other cities and jurisdictions.
She was appointed to the Queensland Development Tribunals in 2021, and sits on the Bar Association Environmental, Planning & Property Law Committee, and Access to Justice and Pro Bono Committee.
Prior to being called to the bar in 2014 she was associate to his Honour Judge Richard Jones of the Planning and Environment Court, and to her Honour Judge Fleur Kingham, then Deputy President of the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, currently Chair of the Queensland Law Reform Commission.
She enjoys mentoring those with an interest in environmental or human rights law, and also provides pro-bono assistance through CLCs such as Caxton, EDO, and Basic Rights Queensland.
