Romauld Andrew KC is a leading construction and engineering Silk.

Romauld appears in the Federal Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and other courts and tribunals.  He has particular expertise in long and complex trials, as well as appeals and judicial review matters.   He is also regularly briefed to appear in commercial arbitrations both domestic and international.  

Romauld is widely known for his extensive knowledge of construction and engineering disputes, including:

  • Delay and disruption claims

  • Concrete slabs and pavements, and concrete structures including water/liquid retaining structures, early age thermal cracking etc

  • Defects including cladding

  • Engineering and infrastructure disputes

  • Insurance claims including Contractors – All Risk

  • Professional indemnity claims involving architects, building surveyors, engineers and others

  • Building and Construction Industry Security of Payment Act matters

  • Payment disputes including variations and latent conditions

  • Disciplinary/OHS hearings/prosecutions

Romauld is briefed in technology matters more generally, including claims relating to business interruption and liability arising from defective machinery and engineering works.

Romauld accepts appointments as an Arbitrator.  He has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) since 2010.

Romauld is a former President of the Building Disputes Practitioners Society and a member of the Society of Construction Law Australia.
