Thomas Ambrose

Thomas has a broad commercial practice. He has a particular interest in construction (including security of payment), insurance, consumer law, professional negligence and judicial review.

Thomas is briefed to appear in court and tribunal proceedings (in Queensland and interstate), expert determinations and arbitrations. Some recent matters in which Thomas has acted include:

  • Niclin Constructions Pty Ltd v Robotic Steel Fab Pty Ltd [2023] QSC 218

  • Costojic Pty Ltd v Whatareya Pty Ltd & Anor [2023] NTSC 32

  • Insite Construction Services Pty Ltd v Daniels Civil Pty Ltd [2023] QSC 33

  • Arbitration under DIFC-LCIA Arbitration Rules in relation to IT services contract (15 March 2023)

Thomas is recognised in Doyle’s Guide as a recommended construction and infrastructure law junior counsel.

Before coming to the Bar, Thomas was a Special Counsel at a national firm and an Associate to the Honourable Justice Alan Wilson and the Honourable Justice David Thomas in the Supreme Court of Queensland.
